East Dundee banquet hall gets liquor license
Business surely will pick up at a proposed new banquet facility in East Dundee, now that the venture has a liquor license.
Jim and Dan Nagle of Pima Illinois LLC will build an indoor sports complex for flag football and soccer games and turn a building on the former Torco Cadillac dealership site into a banquet hall.
The land on Route 25 just north of Elgin now is officially part of East Dundee. The village board annexed the property in late September and it officially became part of East Dundee earlier this month.
The plan was met with opposition from three residents of the nearby Fox River Bluffs neighborhood, who feared the facilities will disrupt their country living and bring excess noise.
The games start next month and the arena would be constructed next year, said Carlos Luque, the facility's manager. On the banquet end of the business, Luque hopes to attract people looking to celebrate after their weddings, quinceaneras, baptisms, anniversaries and graduations. A temporary permit from Kane County allowed some events before the annexation, but alcohol could not be served at those parties.
