Donate an artificial tree to Salvation Army in Lake Barrington

Want to spread a little Christmas cheer to families in need during the upcoming holiday season? Be part of a Christmas tree donation program sponsored by TreeTime Christmas that will help Chicago-area families in need who would otherwise go without a Christmas tree this season.

During October, families are invited to bring their gently used artificial Christmas trees to the TreeTime Christmas Creations’ showroom, 22N102 Pepper Road, Lake Barrington. Or, schedule a pickup by calling (800)-SA-TRUCK or going to www.satruck.org.

The collected trees will be donated to The Salvation Army for distribution to Chicago-area families in need. In turn, those who participate will receive 15 percent off any new TreeTime artificial Christmas tree, to be redeemed by Oct. 31, 2011.

“More than 5,000 Chicago area families regularly visit local Salvation Army retail stores for household items to make ends meet,” said Envoy Dennis Earnhart of The Salvation Army Metropolitan Division. “During the holiday season, families are often looking for ways to bring joy into their home, and thanks to our partnership with TreeTime Christmas Decorations, we will be able to share donated Christmas trees with those in need.”

TreeTime Christmas Creations features more than 200 varieties of Christmas trees, as well as wreaths, garland, storage containers, accessories and other holiday décor.

Showroom and tree donation hours through Oct. 31 are 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday, Wednesday; 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday; and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Call (847) 527-8880 or visit www.treetime.com.
