Taste’Fest features Barrington area restaurants, breweries

The Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce and Barrington Bank & Trust, Co., N.A. invites the public to the eighth annual Barrington Taste’Fest & Expo from 6-9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, at Millrose Restaurant, Banquets and Country Store, 45 S. Barrington Road, in South Barrington. The Taste is a fundraiser that directly supports local business community initiatives.

With an anticipated crowd of more than 750 area residents and business leaders, the festive evening will include “samples and sips” from Restaurant Row showcasing the local restaurants and an array of breweries and wine representatives. Participants are encouraged to visit every vendor to get their passports stamped and be eligible for a drawing for a new Apple iPad.

“Taste’Fest is a great opportunity to meet neighbors as well as local business leaders, in a fun and engaging social setting,” said Janet Meyer, BACC executive director. “It really is the social event of the year in our area” pointing out that in 2010, despite cold and gale stormlike weather, the turnout was “huge.”

Headlining Restaurant Row at this time are: Bruch Cafe, Buca di Beppo, Cucina Pazza LLC, Fat Bottomed Girls, Francesca’s Famiglia, Georgios Chicago Pizzeria and Pub LLC South Barrington, Kernel Fabyan’s Gourmet Popcorn Shoppe Deer Park, Kyriaki A Greek Eatery, Near Restaurant, The Anvil Club, The Lucky Monk and The Onion Pub and Brewery.

Purchase tickets at (847) 381-2525; visiting the chamber office at the new location, 190 James St., in Barrington or online at www.barringtonchamber.com. Tickets are $40 each or two for $70 in advance; $45 and $75 at the door.

Business owners and restaurateurs, there is no better way to showcase your business to the community than at this event. There are still opportunities for exhibitors and sponsors. Call (847) 381-2525 or email events@barringtonchamber.com.
