Two fatalities, still no stoplight
How many more deaths is it going to take until the state of Illinois puts a traffic signal at the intersection of Molidor Rd. and Route 12 in Volo -- one, 10, 100? How many more people have to die there before the state realizes that enough is enough? In the past five years, there have been several fatal accidents at that location and still the state geniuses refuse to do anything about it. It is an extremely dangerous intersection. Since the new homes have gone in down Molidor Rd., that light should have been installed five years ago. On Sept. 30, a young woman and her dog were tragically killed at that intersection. The whole incident could have been avoided if a traffic signal had been installed after the last traffic death a few years ago. It amazes me that there is actually a count of fatalities before the state will act upon such a terrible thing. One fatality is too many and that happened years ago.
Come on, IDOT. protect the people who use Route 12 through Lake County.
