Second Indiana man admits to deadly deliveryman robbery
FORT WAYNE, Ind. — A second man has pleaded guilty to robbery charges in connection with the fatal shooting of a pizza deliveryman in Fort Wayne.
The guilty plea made by 20-year-old Deangelo Bennett on Thursday in an Allen County court means that no one has admitted to firing the shots that killed 32-year-old Ian Crace after he made a pizza delivery in November 2009.
The Journal Gazette reports Bennett admitted participating in the robbery, but maintained that it was Andre Washington who was armed. Washington also pleaded guilty last month to robbery charges.
Prosecutors dropped murder charges against each man in plea agreements.
Washington is scheduled to be sentenced next week and Bennett in November.
