Jobs plan would promote new ideas
Creating jobs is not simply an employer thinking “We need the economy to get going so let’s hire some people.” Instead it is about them needing to hire people to help them meet their individual desired profit margins. They need to be able to see a reason why doing this will cause their business to grow. That comes from the great American ability to innovate. Come up with a new product or service that will help them grow.
In President Obama’s American Jobs Act part of the plan is to entice businesses to develop new ideas. One of those is through shortening the patent process. These are steps in the right direction. I have heard concern from some white collar workers that all these plans are to get jobs in the manufacturing sector to grow. In developing new products the first step is to actually develop the concept or service. This is typically a white collar job. It is then passed on to our capable blue collar workforce to produce the product.
If it is a new service that is developed this helps the growth of the white collar positions also. Product and service development is a win-win for our economy! Right from the beginning of the process it helps to promote job growth. Small businesses can do it just as well as large businesses.
America was built on innovation. Getting back to those roots will allow us to strengthen it again. Stop worrying about other regions or countries building what we have developed cheaper. That evolution is how business works. Instead innovate and create. Inspire yourself to develop something new. Get back to our roots and keep our county strong!
