Wisconsin governor plans financial literacy summit at Lambeau

MADISON, Wis. — Gov. Scott Walker’s administration is holding a summit on financial literacy Friday at Lambeau Field.

More than 180 educators and financial experts are expected to attend and participate in a variety of workshops and seminars.

Walker’s Council on Financial Literacy was formed earlier this year to improve the financial literacy of Wisconsin’s citizens.

Department of Financial Institutions spokesman George Althoff says the goal of Friday’s meeting is to provide information to educators and others who can take what they learn back to the workplace to help others.

Those expected to participate in the summit include representatives from the Chicago Federal Reserve Bank, the Department of Public Instruction, and several University of Wisconsin campuses.
