Frozen food snarls traffic after downstate crash

GOODFIELD, Ill. — At least one person has been injured in a central Illinois accident that left the roadway covered with chocolate cake and burritos.

State police say one person was transported to a Peoria hospital after two semitrailer trucks collided on westbound Interstate 74 early Thursday.

The (Bloomington) Pantagraph reports that the extent of the person’s injuries wasn’t known.

One of the trucks involved in the crash was carrying frozen food. Traffic has been rerouted off the highway at the Goodfield exit as crews clear food from the roadway.
