Great Western Trail bridges project to begin
LOMBARD, Illinois— The Great Western Trail Bridges project is set to begin this fall. The project is to construct the trail over Grace Street, the Union Pacific Railroad and St. Charles Road. The project is expected to last into late November 2012.
The project includes three bridges, retaining walls, embankment, a paved bike trail and trail lighting. ComEd is currently working to relocate some power lines that are in the footprint of the construction.
The Public Works Department will provide updates as the project progresses.
