Turns out he was lyin’ about the lion
I’m not quite sure the old adage that everyone at one time or another has their 15 minutes of fame — or in this case notoriety — is accurate.
A 14-year-old deer hunter with a potentially bright future in politics has admitted he stretched the truth about being attacked by a mountain lion
Jeremiah Dice’s parents say he admitted his injuries were from a tree stand mishap instead of the result of a lion attack.
Illinois DNR spokesman Chris McCloud of said there are “minor penalties” for filing a false police report, but the agency will not pursue charges.
Sounds to me like young Dice has quite an imagination.
Fall fishing bonanza:Bangs Lake: Excellent jumbo bluegill action this week on both inside and outside weed edges. Bass activity has slowed somewhat, but the northern pike bite is drawing folks to the lake like a magnet.Fox Chain: Look for a good walleye bite on Nippersink and Fox Lakes right at sundown. You could surprise yourself on Lake Catherine when dragging topwater lures over the weeds. You can sometimes see muskies trailing the lures all the way back to you boat. Good crappie action on Channel Lake.Fox River: Look for smallmouth in deeper pockets in Batavia.Forest preserves: In Cook and Lake Counties the action should be decent for planted rainbow trout. The season opens Saturday. Check banana Lake in Wauconda as one of the better spots.Lake Michigan: Fresh spawn seems to be the right trigger for steelhead, silver salmon and brown trout just inside Waukegan Harbor.
