Libertyville road bonds not warranted
For the village of Libertyville to suggest on the March 20, 2012, ballot to issue bonds for Libertyville needed road improvements because of budget shortfalls, come on, enough already.
Learn like the rest of us to better manage your budget. Once again, the taxpayer bears the weight of the burden of mismanagement.
To ask the tax payer to approve yet another 20-year $5 million (+$33 tax /resident year) or $10 million (+$65.00 tax/ resident year) bond, you got to be kidding me. What’s it going to be $5 million or $10 million? You don’t know? We’re talking plus or minus $5 million here? What’s the plan?
As a Libertyville tax-paying resident, I have to ask, have we all forgotten the other bond issue request that went bust called the Libertyville Sports Complex, for which we are all still paying? I’ve got a better idea. Libertyville, cut your losses and sell the sports complex and make Rt. 21 (Milwaukee Ave) a toll road. There’s you’re $32 million and then some.
