Long backup from I-69 crash near Indianapolis

FISHERS, Ind. — Numerous vehicles crashed into each other in an Interstate 69 construction zone near Indianapolis, causing a morning commute backup stretching for several miles.

The crash happened about 6:30 a.m. Wednesday on southbound I-69 in a construction zone for a bridge project in Fishers between the Indiana 37 and Indiana 238 interchanges. WTHR-TV and WISH-TV reported that 10 vehicles were involved in the crash, but there was no immediate word about injuries.

Helicopter video from the stations showed traffic backed up for miles past the Indiana 238 interchange.
