Join in Des Plaines Halloween decorating contest

Applications are being accepted for the third annual free Halloween House Decorating Contest sponsored by Friends of the Parks.

Entries will be accepted through Monday, Oct. 24 and the judging will be on Thursday, Oct. 27.

Homes must be illuminated from 6 to 8 p.m. and decorations must be visible from the street.

Prizes will be awarded.
