Praise for lawmaker who returned money

The article on Tom Morrison should have been prominently featured on Page 1 rather than having been relegated to Page 11 of the Daily Herald.

Returning surplus district funds, using functional but inexpensive furniture in his office, and opting not to join the General Assembly’s pension system seems too good to believe of a politician in Illinois government.

If the story is credible, Mr. Morrison should run for governor — the state needs his kind of fiscal thinking.
