President of South Korea to visit Chicago

South Korean President Lee Myung-bak (myuhng-bahk) is coming to Chicago.

On Thursday, the South Korean leader will be in Washington to address a joint meeting of Congress and attend a state dinner at the White House. Then, he will make his first visit to Chicago on Friday. Mayor Rahm Emanuel will host a dinner for Lee at the Chicago Cultural Center.

In a statement, Emanuel says Friday’s visit will highlight the commitment that both the city and South Korea have to education and innovation and the economic ties between Chicago and South Korea.
