Four teens charged for underage drinking at Geneva party
Four partygoers were charged with illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor for drinking at an adult-sponsored party Saturday night and early Sunday morning, Geneva Police officials said.
Edward Parker, 18; James Clark, 18; Andre White, 18, and an unidentified 17-year-old were all charged at 12:53 a.m. Sunday night at the drinking party that was broken up by police, said Cmdr. Julie Nash of the Geneva Police Department.
In addition, she said the adult owners of the home on the 500 block of Eighth Street where the party took place are facing state charges for throwing the party where underage drinking was taking place, Nash said.
“We filed a local charge against them for throwing the party, but we retracted it immediately and decided a state charge against them would be better,” she said. “The state charges are expected in the next day or so.”
She said an officer responded to a noise complaint at the home and found the four minors had been consuming alcohol.
She said it was evident that a larger party had taken place prior to the complaint coming in, but officers only found the four teens and two adults at the home when they arrived.
She said the adults knew the party was taking place where alcohol was being consumed.
Addresses of the four teens were not available, Nash said.
