If only politics were like baseball
My statement is not about Chicago baseball, so Cubs fans please continue reading. The 25-man roster of the White Sox in the 2000 season consisted of many young, talented, energetic, positive-thinking players who had, in the past few years, moved up from the minor leagues to play in the major leagues. Because of their youthful thoughts and feelings they had no fear of the Cleveland Indians who had had many great players and had fielded many great teams. Further, they would play the New York Yankees to win, not to try not to lose, especially at Yankee Stadium.
With their youthful vigor overflowing, this White Sox team embarked on road trips to Cleveland and New York. They swept the Indians, then at Yankee Stadium swept the Yankees four games in a weekend series. Ah, the joys of innocent youth.
My point is this: Let’s have rigs with 65-foot trailers back up to the White House and the Capitol, load all the occupants, and replace them with young, talented, energetic, positive-thinking government officials. Who knows? We could win the World Series.
