Goudie right about phones in school
Three cheers for Chuck Goudie on his column on Sept. 26 about cellphones. What is wrong with our society that cellphones should dominate the lives of young and old? Yes, it is a wonderful invention if used properly, such as in an emergency or when young people and parents need to check in on each other, but not during school time. Letting youngsters use cellphones during class time should be a definite no-no even if individual teachers allow it.
His final words in the article answered the question, Cellphones in school? “Really unnecessary.” A huge hurrah for Chuck Goudie.
