Hanover Park sees rise in car burglaries

The Hanover Park police warn residents there have been a number of vehicle burglaries south of Lawrence Avenue, and in each case someone entered unlocked vehicles parked on the owner's driveway and removed personal items in plain sight.

The burglaries all occurred after dark, and the stolen items include iPods, GPS units, loose change and two television monitors.

No locked vehicles were burglarized. Police remind residents to lock their cars when not in use and to remove or conceal any personal belongings. Remember, the average burglar looks for the easiest targets. For more ways to protect your property, call Officer George Sullivan at (630) 372-4480.
