Gallery 128 opens new exhibit by artist David Dallison

Watercolor images of exotic venues and diverse cultures will soon flank the walls of Gallery 128 in Waukegan, as artist David Dallison opens a new exhibit titled, “Connectivities.”

Located within the Waukegan Public Library, the gallery will host an opening reception for the artist from 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 8, with complimentary soft drinks, wine and cheese.

“This series of watercolors, created over the last 15 years, aspires to capture scenes of everyday life and landscapes from a vast range of interesting and beautiful countries I've explored,” said Dallison, a Waukegan native.

He titled the exhibit “Connectivities” to show that, despite marked differences in outward appearance, each setting bears an undercurrent of similarities in its character, and among its people.

Dallison has traveled and painted extensively for over 25 years, exhibiting his work locally and internationally. He teaches at the Chicago Botanic Garden, the Deerpath Art League in Lake Forest, and the The Art Center in Highland Park. Samples of his work can be found at www.davidedallison.com.

“Connectivities” will be on display at the gallery through Dec. 8. Newly opened, Galleria 128 serves as a dedicated exhibit space to showcase the talents of local artists. To learn more about exhibit opportunities, call Mitch Siegel at (847) 623-2041, ext. 231.
