Northwest Indiana teen on school bus grazed by bullet
GARY, Ind. — School officials in northwestern Indiana say they’re working with police to find out who fired a gun shot that grazed a 15-year-old girl riding a school bus.Gary Community Schools spokeswoman Sarita Stevens says the bus was about two blocks away from the Pulaski Alternative School when the shots were fired from outside the bus Friday afternoon.The girl#146;s mother tells The Times of Munster that her daughter at first didn#146;t realize she had been wounded in the back. She says the wound was discovered after the girl arrived home and was taken to a hospital for treatment.The mother reported the wound to Gary police on Monday and says her daughter won#146;t be returning to the school.
