Wis. woman, baby killed in car-pickup crash
ANTIGO, Wis. — Investigators are looking into what caused a car-pickup collision that killed a 21-year-old woman and her newborn daughter near Antigo.
The Antigo Daily Journal reports the victims are identified as 21-year-old Rana Dettman of Wausau and her 8-day-old daughter, Payge Zynda.
Officials say Dettman was driving a car that collided with a pickup at an intersection southwest of Antigo Friday afternoon.
Dettman died Saturday at a Marshfield hospital. Her baby was pronounced dead Friday at a hospital in Antigo.
The pickup driver — a 16-year-old boy from Antigo — remains hospitalized. His condition was not available Monday.
