Man dies 9 days after being wounded outside club

EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. — A man shot multiple times last month outside an East St. Louis nightclub has died of his wounds.

Police say 23-year-old Brandon Davis of East St. Louis died Monday, nine days after being shot as he left the Denese’s Place club. Investigators say the assailant fired after first chasing Davis.

A female club patron and a security guard were also wounded.

Police haven’t disclosed a possible motive for the shooting.

Davis is the 23rd homicide in East St. Louis this year.
