Connie’s Run will be Oct. 16 in Busse Woods

The Connie Sizer Foundation, which was created in honor of Suk Nan “Connie” Sizer, wife of retired Buffalo Grove Police Officer Bob Sizer, will hold its 2nd annual run event beginning 8 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, in the Busse Woods Forest Preserve.

The event offers a 5K Run/Walk, 1 Mile Kids Fun Run and a 10K. It includes a DJ, a bounce house for the kids and snacks. The theme is Halloween and costumes are welcome. Also attending at the event is “Jessica,” a Pink Heals Fire Engine named after Jessica Bertulis, a 16-year-old Johnsburg High School junior who has bone cancer in her spine.

Connie she fought multiple myeloma, a disease that is normally fatal in less than three years, for more than 14 years before dying in December 2009. Details about the event are on the website conniesizer.org or by email at info@conniesizer.org.
