Woman found stabbed to death in Carpentersville

A 59-year-old woman was found stabbed to death in a Carpentersville apartment Sunday night, according to police.

Relatives of Isabella Trejo found her unresponsive in an apartment on the 0-100 block of Oxford Road at 8:22 p.m. Sunday with what appeared to be several stab wounds in her upper body, according to police.

Paramedics and police officers responded but pronounced Trejo dead at the scene, according to police.

The case has been classified as a homicide investigation, but few details were available Monday.

The Kane County coroner’s office confirmed an autopsy was performed on Trejo Monday but results were not being released as the killing remains under investigation.

The apartment complex where Trejo was found is about one block northwest of Dundee-Crown High School.
