Family enrichment programs offered in Tri-Cities

Three TriCity Family Services programs are being offered in collaboration with the Geneva and Batavia park districts for fall. In addition, discussions are also under way for future seasons and for collaborating with the St. Charles Park District.
Ÿ Women's Enrichment Group is a psychoeducational, support group for women interested in pursuing goals of self-development and personal growth while gaining support of their peers. This group consists of two parts, each comprised of five weekly sessions. You may participate in Part II, only if you have completed Part I. Previous participants are invited to attend the fifth sessions of Part I and II.
Part I: Five Wednesdays, Oct. 5-Nov. 2, choose from noon to 2 p.m. or 7 to 9 p.m.

Ÿ Sibling Rivalry, a two-part presentation, is for parents to learn how to respond effectively to three intensity levels of sibling conflict and to learn tips for encouraging sibling harmony.

Ÿ Mindful Emotions Group is a cognitive, behavioral, solution-focused group for adolescent girls ages 14 to 17. The overall goal of the workshop is to create an enhanced sense of emotional balance, build self-esteem, and develop a strong inner core. Girls will work on strengthening their skills in positive feeling expression, communication, conflict resolution, problem-solving, respecting others, and healthy coping strategies.
Eight Tuesdays, 6 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 4-Nov. 22. Mindful Emotions Group for girls ages 14-17 is described on page 49 of the Geneva Park District Guide to Recreation Fall 2011. Online registration will reflect the corrected time for the group meetings from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Oct. 4 to Nov. 22.
