Woman dies in fire near Indiana U. campus
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — A coroner says a 19-year-old woman has died in a fire at an apartment complex near the Indiana University campus in Bloomington.
Monroe County Coroner Nicole Meyer tells WISH-TV the woman was transported to the hospital, where she died early Saturday. The woman's identity wasn't immediately released.
Bloomington Fire Department Sgt. Travis Drescher tells The Herald-Times that one police officer and one firefighter were also injured in the fire.
The fire broke out at Terra Trace Apartments about 3:30 a.m. Streets in the area remained closed Saturday morning.
WISH-TV reports IU is working to house any students living in the apartments who were displaced by the fire.
