Apple Fest opens Friday in historic Long Grove

Any way you slice it, visitors can expect to have bushels of fun at the annual Long Grove Apple Festival Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 30-Oct. 2, in historic Long Grove.

Celebrate fall’s favorite fruit and the many delicious ways to enjoy it — from Long Grove’s famous brown bag apple pies and apple cider doughnuts to hot apple cider, caramel apple lattes, apple martinis and more.

Festival hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. all three days.

Village restaurants and outdoor food booths will carry a range of apple-inspired treats, as well as bushels full of tree-ripened apples. Visitors will enjoy outdoor ambience and the many activities and live music staged throughout the historic village.

The lineup of entertainment on the stage in Fountain Square and at the Covered Bridge and the Mill Pond will feature folk, bluegrass, country, rock and jazz throughout the three-day weekend. Families with children will find plenty of activities for kids, including pony rides, kiddie rides, face painting and educational booths.
