COLLINSVILLE — Illinois State Police say they’ve seized nearly 750 pounds of marijuana with a value estimated at $3.4 million during two traffic stops.

State police say that last Saturday, a trooper who stopped a sport utility vehicle on Interstate 70 near Marine for having an obstructed windshield found two duffel bags containing 110 pounds of marijuana. Two Ohio men were taken into custody.

And a month ago, state troopers say they pulled over a pickup truck on Interstate 70 near Troy because the driver improperly changed lanes and didn’t have the license plate displayed correctly.

A search of that vehicle turned up a dozen duffel bags in the truck’s bed, containing more than 630 pounds of marijuana. A Florida man was arrested and later freed on bond.
