Scout-O-Rama Saturday in Deer Grove Preserve, Palatine

The Boy Scouts of America Signal Hill District will host Scout-O-Rama from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at Deer Grove Forest Preserve near Palatine.

Not just for Scouts, but for families interested in Scouting, this annual event is free and open to the public. It will be held in Grove No. 5, on Quentin Road just north of Dundee Road.

Hundreds of families and potential Scouts are expected to attend and be introduced to skills, exhibits, competitions, skits and displays.

It will feature a pinewood derby, rocket launch, rope bridge, rain gutter regatta and geocaching.

Stop by for the entire day or a few hours for an exciting time and enjoy a fun-filled day of exhibits, competitions and displays.

Some popular events from recent events include cooking demonstrations, water rocket launches and even a trebuchet.
