Forest preserve guard accused of growing marijuana

CHICAGO — A Cook County Forest Preserve resident watchman whose duties include preventing the cultivation of marijuana on government land has been arrested and charged with growing pot.

Cynthia Wojtanowski lives in a house at Tampier South Woods forest preserve in the Chicago suburb of Orland Park.

The 45-year-old Wojtanowski, and boyfriend Mark Osmolski, are charged with felony marijuana production.

Randal says authorities were given a tip about the pair's alleged activity.

Wojtanowski and Osmolski posted bail Friday and were released. It is not known if they have legal representation.
