Aero Drive water main work begins Sept. 28

Work Scheduled to be Completed by November 15

The City of Naperville informs residents that water main infrastructure construction work is scheduled to take place on Aero Drive from 83rd Street to 79th Street beginning on Wednesday, September 28, 2011. The project is scheduled to be completed by November 15.

Aero Drive will be closed to through traffic throughout the duration of the work; however, the road will remain open for local and emergency traffic. The water main work will also take place along 83rd Street, and motorists traveling this route will experience temporary lane reductions during that time. Motorists are advised to exercise caution, obey the posted 25 mph construction zone speed limit and allow additional time for their trip or seek an alternate route to avoid delays.

This project is part of the City's long-term capital improvement plan to enhance the water distribution system's performance and reliability in the southern portion of Naperville. The work consists of installing approximately 2,800 feet of 12-inch diameter transmission water main. This will improve flow capacity throughout the water distribution network during high usage periods. The contract for this project has been awarded to Swallow Construction of Downers Grove.
