Open casting for “The Real World” Oct. 1

Casting directors from Bunim/Murray Productions will hold an open casting call in Chicago Oct. 1 to find roommates for Season 27 of MTV’s “The Real World.”
It will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Dave & Buster’s, 1030 N. Clark St., Chicago.
Executive Producer Jonathan Murray said they’re on the lookout for people from all walks of life with great personalities who are willing to share their lives with the world. They’d also be interested in people who:
Ÿ Have strong personalities and are unafraid to speak their minds.
Ÿ Face challenges living an everyday life that most take for granted.
Ÿ Struggle with weight issues.
Ÿ Were affected by a natural disaster.
Ÿ Are products of home or alternative schooling.
Ÿ Follow unrecognized or non-mainstream belief systems.
Ÿ Are elite athletes.
Ÿ Are recent graduates affected by the economic downturn.
Ÿ Are involved with goth, emo or punk subculture.
Ÿ Belong to a pro-abstinence organization.
Ÿ Are recently single due to a tragedy.
Ÿ Have recently gotten out of the foster-care system.
Ÿ Want to bring “The Real World” spotlight to a cause, condition or social issue they care deeply about or are personally affected by.
Ÿ Have worked hard to support themselves and move ahead in their lives.
Ÿ Have a surprising or unusual life story that has yet to be told on television.
Applicants must be age 20 or older, and appear to be between the ages of 20 and 24. Bring a photo ID and a recent picture, which will not be returned.

Credited with being the first reality show on television, “The Real World” is also one of the longest-running reality series. It first aired in 1992.
The current season, “The Real World San Diego,” premieres at 9 p.m. Sept. 28. It is not yet known yet which city will host the Season 27 cast.
