Another measles case confirmed in Wis.

GREENDALE, Wis. — Another case of measles has been confirmed in the Milwaukee area.

The Greendale Health Department confirms a new case of measles in an infant too young to be vaccinated against the highly contagious disease.

The child has not been hospitalized. The baby is believed to have contracted measles from a Milwaukee child confirmed to have the disease two weeks ago.

Susan Shepeard, health director for the Greendale Health Department, says the new case involves a child who is cared for at home by grandparents, and is not in a daycare setting.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is analyzing DNA fingerprints to definitively link the cases. But Shepeard says the children attend the same church.
