Justin Roberts & The Not Ready for Naptime Players at the MAC Oct. 15

With a sound reminiscent of the Beach Boys, mixed with the fun and frivolity of childhood, singer-songwriter Justin Roberts brings his blend of humor, playful alliteration and entertaining melodies to a 10 a.m. performance Saturday, Oct. 15, at the McAninch Arts Center at College of DuPage, 425 Fawell Blvd. in Glen Ellyn.

A mainstay on the preschool-based Noggin Network and a favorite of the Parents' Choice Awards, Robert's first CD was listed as one of the best music gifts of the year by “Sesame Street Parents Magazine.” The former Montessori preschool teacher has been compared to Nick Lowe, Paul Simon, Elvis Costello and punk icons The Ramones.

Roberts' tunes offer odes to outer space, sea life and other subjects that both entertain and educate young audiences. Annually, Roberts performs before thousands of children at Seattle's Bumbershoot festival and at Chicago's Ravinia.

Tickets to Roberts' Oct. 15 performance are $12. For more information, call the Arts Center Box Office at (630) 942-4000, or visit: www.atthemac.org.
