Inverness resident joins NCH Foundation Board

The Northwest Community Hospital Foundation announces the appointment of Megan Bueschel to its Board of Trustees for a three-year term. Bueschel, an Inverness resident, has a successful track record in philanthropy that will help the nonprofit hospital seek charitable gifts to ensure excellent services.

“Staying on the cutting edge of medicine takes a lot of resources, and it's important to all of us,” said Bueschel, who attends her first Foundation Board meeting Sept. 13. “Northwest Community Hospital is committed to offering the best healthcare close to home, and I am honored to support this cause.”

Bueschel is senior vice president and chief marketing officer for Mario Tricoci Hair Salons and Day Spas in Palatine. She grew up in Mount Prospect, and has lived in the northwest suburbs most of her life. Her family has relied on NCH over the years, and she views the hospital as an asset for local residents.

“Access to excellent healthcare is critical in any community,” she said. “Along with strong schools, it's likely one of the top two reasons most people move to this area.”

A member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority, Bueschel has participated in the Chicago Northwest Suburban Panhellenic organization's college scholarship program by assisting with fundraising events and the selection of scholarship winners. As a past president of the Chicago chapter of American Women in Radio and Television, now Women in Media, she supported fundraising for college scholarships.

In the workplace, she directed two “Mario Cuts for a Cause” fundraising campaigns – one on behalf of hurricane Katrina victims, and the other for those made homeless by the devastating earthquake in Haiti. The Haiti project raised enough money to build six homes.

“Clearly, Megan has creative ideas, competence, energy and enthusiasm to offer,” said NCH Foundation Vice President David Ungurean. “We're grateful that she's joined us in advancing healthcare at NCH.”

Bueschel holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of South Florida in Tampa, where she included advertising in her double major. Her lifelong career in marketing communications includes experience in print, television and radio. She has executed a range of successful marketing strategies, and hopes to use this expertise in her new role as an NCH Foundation trustee.
