Forest board weighs police contract:
The Lake County Forest Preserve District board will meet Tuesday to vote on a proposed contract with the union representing its ranger police force. The proposed contract is a four-year deal that includes 2-percent salary increases on an officer’s employment anniversary. It also would avoid layoffs until at least Dec. 31, 2012. The meeting is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. at the county government building in downtown Waukegan, but it would start later if the previously scheduled county board meeting runs past that time.
