Lombard church to volunteer 10,000 hours
Peace Lutheran Church in Lombard will sponsor a “Christian tailgate party” Friday, Sept. 23, to launch its “Live the Love” volunteer campaign.
The free event begins at 6 p.m. at the church, 21W500 Butterfield Road. It will include contemporary Christian music played by the church’s band and a message from Rev. Dan Hudson, lead pastor of Sanctuary Church in Manhattan, Ill.
Beginning Saturday, Sept. 24, at least 200 Peace Church members will complete service projects totaling 10,000 hours of volunteer time to benefit area food pantries and the DuPage Forest Preserve District.
