Food, song and dance on the menu at Scandinavian Day in South Elgin

Fancy Swedish pancakes for breakfast on Sunday? Visitors can find them — and more — at the 32nd annual Scandinavian Day festival, set for 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 11 in Vasa Park, on Route 31 (seven miles south of I-90 and five miles north of Route 64) in South Elgin.

Admission is a $10 donation for adults; children 12 and younger are admitted free. Parking is free.

Enjoy a late summer day with traditional food, games, crafts, gifts and entertainment representing the culture of Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland. Feast on a variety of Scandinavian and American specialties. Visit the many craft and gift vendors for that special memory of the five Nordic countries. Free pony rides are available for children.
