Deerfield, ComEd settle:
The village of Deerfield and Commonwealth Edison Co. announced they have reached a settlement of the lawsuit filed by Deerfield in 2008 concerning the electric service provided to the village. The settlement calls for ComEd to make improvements to Deerfield’s electrical infrastructure, including installation of underground cable, automated power distribution equipment and smart fuse technology, by the end of 2011. In exchange, Deerfield will drop the lawsuit it filed in Lake County Circuit Court.
