Hampshire Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8043 Ladies Auxiliary will host local artist Lizz Ploppert at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at St. John’s Lutheran Church Activity Hall, 13N535 French Road, Burlington.

Ploppert will present “Wizardry in Stitching — How to Play With Your Quilts.” She is a scissor magician and needle wiz with her creations — unusual and magic quilt creations. Learn the art of 3-D quilt construction.

Refreshments will be served.

A donation of $5 will be appreciated. This program sponsored by the auxiliary will benefit its scholarships for Hampshire High School and Burlington Central School. Other programs the auxiliary participates in are for the hospitalized veterans, cancer aid and research, community service, Patriot Pen Essays at the elementary schools and coloring contest for preschools.
