Teen dies from trash truck fall in E. Indiana

PARKER CITY, Ind. — Authorities in eastern Indiana say a 17-year-old boy from Ohio was fatally run over after he fell from the front end of a moving garbage truck that is part of a business owned by members of his family.

Randolph County police say Stephen Tiller of Greenville, Ohio, fell Monday afternoon while the truck was traveling on county road near the town of Parker City.

The Star Press reports (http://bit.ly/n3W6tq ) that another worker who also fell suffered a broken leg and was transported to IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.

Delaware County deputy coroner Jim Clevenger says the two were knocked from the truck when it hit a rough spot on the road. Clevenger says they shouldn't have been riding on the front of the truck and should have been on its sides or the back.
