Kane County Cougars to host Burlington Bees in playoffs

The Kane County Cougars wrapped up the regular season Monday with a 9-3 loss to the Clinton LumberKings at Elfstrom Stadium.Now the Cougars (37-33, 76-62) turn their attention to the Midwest League playoffs, which start Wednesday when they host the Burlington Bees in a best-of-three series at 6 p.m. Games 2 and 3 (if necessary) will be at Burlington on Thursday and Friday at 6:30 p.m. All three games will be broadcast on WBIG 1280-AM.The Cougars never led Monday. Trailing 2-0, they scored in the second inning on Orlando Calixte#146;s sacrifice fly.In the sixth, Brian Fletcher hit his 14th homer, a 2-run blast. Fletcher went 2-for-3 and finished with a .328 average, second best in Cougars history.
