New rabbi at Hoffman Estates congregation

Rabbi Taron Tachman will be officially installed as the new leader of the Beth Tikvah Congregation, 300 Hillcrest Drive in Hoffman Estates at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16. Previously an associate rabbi at the Temple Sholom of Chicago, Tachman has a master’s degree in social work from the University of Michigan, and a certificate in Jewish communal service from the Sol Drachler Jewish Community Leadership Program. He pursued his rabbinical studies at Hebrew Union College Jewish Institute of Religion in New York City. The installation ceremony will include a 8 p.m. Shabbat evening service followed by an extended Oneg Shabbat. (847) 885-4545.
