Shred Day set for Saturday, Sept. 10

Free Event Sponsored by the City and DuPage County

The City of Naperville is proud to partner with DuPage County to host Shred Day from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 10 in the Public Works Service Center parking lot, 180 Fort Hill Drive. This free event is open to all residents. Attendees are asked to please enter the parking lot using Fort Hill Drive.

The purpose of Shred Day is two-fold. Documents that are not shredded, or that individuals shred, end up in landfills. All items collected during this event will be recycled into usable paper products.

This event will also help protect people's identity. By securely shredding documents containing personal information rather than disposing of them in non-secure places such as trash cans or recycle bins, residents proactively decrease the likelihood of becoming victims of identity theft.

This document shredding event utilizes state-of-the-art mobile shredding trucks, which are faster, more efficient, and have a high-volume destruction process. Destruction occurs immediately on site. Please note there is a limit of three paper grocery bags or three small boxes per vehicle. Paper clips and staples may remain on documents. Items such as three-ring binders will not be accepted.
