Village website takes on new look with redesign

The Village of Lombard will unveil a new and improved Village website on September 9.

The website redesign and update was done to give the website a fresh and new look, said Larry McGhinnis, IT Manager for the Village of Lombard. “The last refresh on the website was introduced in October, 2007,” he said, “so it was time.”

The redesigned website will have a center column with links to the most accessed information. A featured “Calendar of Events” module will highlight daily events and an “In The Spotlight” section will have daily updates on items of interest to the community.

“All of the information that was included on the website before will still be there, and then some,” said McGhinnis. “We are always updating it and the feedback that we receive is reviewed and when possible, implemented,” he added.

Working through the implementation of the web redesign was the Village's web team, a group of employees who represent every department. McGhinnis gives much of the credit to the web team, who saw the redesign through every step of the way. Input for the redesign was solicited from the public as well through an online survey on the Village's current website.

The Village will also be introducing its Facebook page with the unveiling of the website redesign. This social media page will be another vehicle the Village can use to communicate with the public.

The Village website address is www.villageoeflombard.org. The redesigned look of the website will be launched September 9.
