Police Offering Reward in Theft of Manhole Covers

NAPERVILLE CRIME STOPPERS are offering up to a $1000.00 cash reward for information leading to an arrest of person(s) responsible for the thefts of “sanitary” and “water” covers belonging to the City of Naperville. The thefts of the covers (aka / manhole covers) occurred between mid and late August.

The covers weigh approximately 50 lbs each and are stamped with the wording “sanitary sewer” or “water”. The thefts have occurred in the south-west section of Naperville where new sub-divisions are being built. Residents should be cautious when driving or walking at night through new construction sub-divisions to avoid injury.

If anyone witnessed this incident or has any information about it or the suspects involved, they are asked to call CRIME STOPPERS at 630/420-6006. Your information is important to CRIME STOPPERS and all callers may remain anonymous. A reward of up to $1,000.00 is being offered for the information that leads to an arrest in this incident.
