Pitching matchups: The Cubs’ Randy Wells (5-4) vs. Tim Lincecum (12-10) Monday at 9:15 p.m.; Matt Garza (6-10) vs. Ryan Vogelsong (10-4) Tuesday at 9:15 p.m.; Rodrigo Lopez (4-5) vs. Madison Bumgarner (8-12) Wednesday at 2:45 p.m.

At a glance: The Giants have been to Wrigley Field in two trips this year, and the teams have split six games. San Francisco is desperately trying to stay close to first-place Arizona in the NL West. The Giants entered Sunday last in the NL in batting, at .229, but they were second in ERA, at 3.11. The Cubs were next-to-last in ERA (4.53). Lincecum and Vogelsong are in the top 10 in individual ERA. Giants closer Brian Wilson is on the DL. Cubs manager Mike Quade may start Blake DeWitt Monday. DeWitt is 8-for-18 against Lincecum.
