Road closures, restrictions in effect for Last Fling Sept. 2-5

The City of Naperville reminds residents of the upcoming street closures, parking restrictions, shuttle locations and accessibility plans that will be in effect throughout Last Fling, taking place Friday, Sept. 2 through Monday, Sept. 5.

There will be several road closures and no parking zones in effect for the duration of the event, as well as additional closures and restrictions on Monday, Sept. 5 to accommodate the Labor Day Parade and the Fling Mile. The details regarding dates, times and locations of these closures and parking restrictions can be found on color-coded maps located on the City's website at www.naperville.il.us/lastfling.aspx. The maps require Adobe Acrobat reader to view.

Remote Parking and Shuttle Locations

Free public shuttles serving Last Fling will run to and from three remote parking locations near the downtown Naperville area located at:

• Burlington commuter parking lot, southeast corner of 5th Avenue and Washington Street

• North Central College, corner of Brainard Street and Highland Avenue

• All Saints Catholic Academy, 1155 Aurora Ave.

Shuttles will run approximately every 30 minutes during the following times:

• Friday, September 2: 6 to 11 p.m.

• Saturday, September 3 and Sunday, September 4: 4 to 11 p.m.

• Monday, September 5: 1 to 6 p.m.

Free parking is available at all of the shuttle locations. Shuttles will drop off and pick up Last Fling attendees at the corner of Eagle Street and Aurora Avenue. Shuttle route maps are available on the City's website at www.naperville.il.us/lastfling.aspx.

Accessible Event Parking

Accessible parking on-site will be available at the Rotary Hill parking lot located on Aurora Avenue and in the lower level of the Naperville Municipal Center, located at 400 S. Eagle St. (Please note that for the duration of the event, the entrance to the Municipal Center parking lot will be off of Webster Street.)

Off-site accessible parking is available at All Saints Academy, located at 1155 Aurora Ave. Accessible shuttle service is available at this location approximately every 30 minutes. There is one accessible spot for wheelchairs per shuttle.

Accessible parking is available in all of the parking lots and parking decks located throughout downtown Naperville as well as on some of the streets. A color-coded downtown Naperville accessible parking map is available to view on the City's website at www.naperville.il.us/lastfling.aspx.

Accessible Seating Areas, Assistance and Public Information

Accessible seating areas will be available at the Main Stage at Rotary Hill as well as for the Labor Day Parade. To view the accessible seating and parking locations, visit www.naperville.il.us/lastfling.aspx.

On-site assistance will be available at the Last Fling security trailer located at the Rotary Hill parking lot on Aurora Avenue, as well as the Last Fling tent at the corner of Jackson and Eagle streets. In addition, assistance will be available at the Emergency Response trailer that will be located on Eagle Street near the entrance to the lower level of the Municipal Center parking deck.

The Last Fling carnival will include a special needs carnival time from 10 a.m. to noon on Sunday, September 4 for children with special needs and their siblings. This time allows children with special needs and their brothers or sisters to enjoy rides and activities without having to wait in line.

Labor Day Parade

The 2011 Labor Day Parade will take place at 10 a.m. on Monday, September 5 in downtown Naperville. The Fling Mile will take place starting at 9:30 a.m. along the parade route. Last Fling General Information
