Fishing report

In some aspects it seems like the fall season is just about here, the main evidence being local and area angling is tremendous.

Fox Chain: Without sounding like a town crier, the Chain’s walleyes are cooperating in a grand way, especially on Pistakee Lake. Better check the muskie activity on Lake Catherine if muskies are your game. Bluegill action has continued to sustain itself on Channel Lake.

Fox River: Very good smallmouth action in Elgin and South Elgin.

Lake Michigan: Decent Chinook catches off Waukegan in very deep water.

Forest preserves: In Cook County, Skokie Lagoon has come back with good panfish numbers, but largemouth remains spotty. In Lake County, Banana Lake has come alive with good bass and panfish activity.
